Missie & Visie

Om de kledingindustrie te verduurzamen is het volgens ons nodig dat we meer waarde hechten aan de kleding die er al is en wij laten graag zien hoe! Namelijk, door alternatieven voor fast fashion onder de aandacht te brengen. We upcyclen blouses: van saaie of kapotte blouses maken wij weer nieuwe, toffe en verkoopbare items, waarbij we enkel gebruikmaken van rest- of nieuw en duurzaam geproduceerde materialen. Ook geven we reparatie- en upcycle workshops om te laten zien hoe je kleding een tweede, derde of zelfs vierde leven geeft. Hiermee voorkomen we dat kleding onnodig bij het afval belandt. Wij gaan voor een wereld waarin duurzame kledingproductie de standaard is en de impact van de kledingindustrie tot een minimum wordt gebracht.



Waarom?

Binnen de lineair georiënteerde kledingindustrie is heel veel mis. Bij alle schakels van de productieketen zie je een negatieve impact terug; van het verwerken van grondstoffen tot het vernietigen of verschepen van kleding die afgedankt wordt. De enorme hoeveelheid kledingafval is een groot probleem, onder andere omdat er niet genoeg capaciteit is om het te sorteren of te recyclen. Veel van deze kleding komt daardoor in verbrandingsovens terecht of wordt verscheept naar andere landen waar het grotendeels op enorme stortplaatsen (landfills) gedumpt wordt. Dit heeft allerlei negatieve gevolgen voor mens en milieu. Het verbranden zorgt voor onnodige CO2-uitstoot en het dumpen van kleding in andere landen zorgt daar voor enorme milieuvervuiling en gezondheidsproblemen. Hier steken wij een stokje voor!

We verkopen via Instagram geüpcyclede blouses: van afgedankte, saaie of kapotte blouses maken wij weer nieuwe, toffe items, waarbij we enkel gebruikmaken van rest- of nieuw en duurzaam geproduceerde materialen.

bewustwording

Zowel online als offline laten wij zien waarom het zo belangrijk is om bewust te zijn van wat er in je kledingkast hangt. Zo vertellen we in onze ‘Slow Sunday’ rubriek over alternatieven voor fast fashion.

Hi, ik ben Eike

Betrokken, optimistisch, intuïtief en altijd bereid die extra stap te zetten. Gedreven feminist, maar soms reken ik toch een beetje op mijn vriend die de ‘mannen-klusjes’ doet en houd ik er dus dubbele standaarden op na in mijn leven, oops! Vroeger bedacht ik voor Koninginnedag samen met een vriendinnetje spelletjes om geld op te halen voor dieren dat het WNF op dat moment onder de aandacht bracht. Tegenwoordig zet ik mij in voor een betere wereld via mijn werk en Blousem natuurlijk!

Hi, ik ben Lisan

Goedlachs, empatisch, creatief met woorden en naaister in de dop. Ik droom van een huis buitenaf met moestuin en een bloemenveld en word enthousiast van kleine, alledaagse dingen, zoals het zonlicht dat door de boom voor huis naar binnen schijnt. Ik groeide op in een omgeving waar (bijna) alles een tweede leven kreeg, ofwel door het te repareren ofwel door het ergens anders voor te gebruiken. Die traditie zet ik graag voort, zowel privé als met Blousem.

You’ll turn the cuff of a blouse of your choice into a small pouch. You don’t need to bring anything with you, we’ll have all materials present. 🤑 Costs? €17,50,- including materials, drinks and a snack! Good to know: 🪡 This is a beginners workshop. You will use the sewing machine, but you do not need any experience! 🪡 The workshop takes place with a minimum of 6 participants. Throwback Thur… uhm Wednesday!👀 This was during our workshop during the conference of @ghdubboemmius in June. Their theme was: ‘Threads of identity: the close relationship between clothes and counterculture’ which we thought was really cool🪡. During two workshop-rounds, the students worked on upcycling their clothing into a protest sign to express what they stand for or where they want to see change📢.
